WordCamp Cincinnati 2016 Had An Award Winning Inaugural Year.

OhioGhostWriter helped develop digital marketing strategies that drove local WordCamp brand awareness from 0 awareness to 229 registered participants within a 4-month timeframe. After clearly defining multiple WordCamp personas — ranging from speakers, sponsors, WordPress neophytes through WordPress experts, carefully crafted content was deployed across multiple digital channels to facilitate rapid discovery and to encourage social media shares. Working on a shoestring budget, “free” digital assets were utilized for message amplification to drive awareness increase participation for the inaugural Cincinnati WordCamp 2016.

Among the phenomenal results occurring within 4 months:
•    Attendee enrollment went from 0 to 229
•    45 speakers submitted proposals
•    21 sponsors enlisted
•    25 people volunteered
•    Nearly 20,000 website hits
•    100% of postconference survey participants rated event as good or better

In a recognition of our an overwhelmingly successful marketing campaign, WordCamp Cincinnati 2016 was awarded the Cincinnati American Marketing Association “Best Scrappy Marketing Campaign 2017 Marketing Pinnacle Award.”
